So, How do Micro-currents work?
As we age, our muscles become accustomed to certain expressions and tend to get stuck in these positions. A great example of this is the furrow between the eyebrows that many people get. At the same time, other muscles in our face are hardly ever used, and they begin to atrophy, which leads to sagging. An example of this can often be seen around our jaw lines, chins and necks where we tend to develop sagging or loss of definition as we get older. As we age, skin cells become less active, which leads to a breakdown of collagen and elastin. By the age of 45, the upper cheek muscles may elongate by as much as half an inch, dragging the skin over the cheeks downward to form plump little pouches at the corners of the mouth. The muscles under the chin become loose and the jaw line loses its firm contour.
There are 32 different muscles of the face that are manipulated during the micro-current facial treatment. This treatment is a work-out for your face. The treatment lifts, smoothes, tightens and tones. Probes are used to physically move the muscle into the desired position to perform muscle re-education – the process of lengthening or shortening muscles. Having muscle re-education movements performed in a series re-trains the muscles to maintain this new contour. Micro-current treatment allows the muscles the necessary energy to keep their tension in this new contour.
In addition, we use an LED light that enhances the micro-current to help promote the collagen of the skin. With a variety of colored light treatments, there are many ways LED light benefits the skin.
Yellow Light Therapy – Toning
Yellow light stimulates the nervous and lymphatic systems, toning and strengthening the muscles under the epidermis, bringing tightness back to skin, aiding the anti-aging process.
Orange Light Therapy – Vitalizing
Orange light returns a vitality to skin that has lost its sheen. Especially recommended for wedding days and portraits, orange light works on dull complexions to bring out a brilliant healthy glow.
Red Light Therapy – Rejuvenating
Red light is good for all skin types. It rejuvenates the skin by improving blood flow and increasing collagen production. It doesn’t just leave the skin looking younger, but makes it feel younger deep down.
Aqua Light Therapy – Activating
Aqua light activates the skin. Excellent for mature skin, aqua helps to restore elasticity and suppleness to the skin.
Green Light Therapy – Calming
Green light is found at the center of the visible spectrum, bringing balance and calm to the skin and reducing redness. The calming effect also has anti-inflammatory properties and can even help reduce hyper-pigmentation.
Blue & Violet Light Therapy – Relaxing & Purifying
The blue and violet wavelengths have powerful anti-bacterial properties that cleanse and purify the skin. They kill the acne-causing bacteria P. acne, and have anti-spasmodic properties that relieve tension.
What are the benefits of Micro-current treatments?
How often should treatments be done?
The average person who really wants to see a lift should take part in at least six to twelve treatments for best results within seven to twelve days apart. Once desired look has been achieved, one should continue with treatments every four weeks.
